The Hip Arthroscopy Masters Course is a one-day Cadaver Lab
experience designed for Orthopaedic Surgeons, Fellows, Residents
and PAs who want to refine their arthroscopic
techniques, expand their procedural skillset and learn directly
from internationally recognized Faculty.
Built around individualized learning, the course allows you to
focus on the procedures and techniques most relevant to your
practice. Through extensive Cadaver Lab training, live demonstrations
and case-based discussion, you'll gain practical experience and
technical pearls you can immediately apply in the OR.

Learning Objectives
- Apply fundamental principles of hip labral repair and evaluate the comparative advantages of periportal, interportal and T-capsulotomy approaches in arthroscopic hip surgery.
- Perform core hip arthroscopic and open procedures – including diagnostic scope, acetabuloplasty, femoral osteochondroplasty, labral reconstruction/augmentation, capsular closure and reconstruction, hamstring repair, gluteus medius repair and ischiofemoral osteoplasty – in a cadaveric lab environment.
- Compare image-guided and dynamic assessment techniques for femoroplasty and select the approach best suited to individual patient anatomy and pathology.
- Analyze complex clinical scenarios such as borderline hip dysplasia and ischiofemoral impingement to formulate evidence-based surgical decision-making strategies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in endoscopic gluteus medius and hamstring repair techniques through video review and hands-on lab practice.

The primary target audience for the Hip Arthroscopy Masters Course is Orthopaedic Surgeons, Fellows, Residents, PAs and other healthcare professionals who desire to improve their arthroscopic knowledge, competence, performance and patient outcomes.

AANA has determined the need for this live educational activity based on identifying professional practice gaps, previous course evaluations and the AANA Self-Assessment Examination. The educational content of this activity was based upon current issues and topics provided by AANA Planning Committees and Membership.

The Arthroscopy Association of North America is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The Arthroscopy Association of North America designates this live activity for a maximum of 9 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This activity may also help fulfill the Maintenance of Certification credit requirements mandated by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

This course is being held at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Rosemont, IL.
Air Travel and Ground Transportation
Please fly into O'Hare International Airport. A shuttle to the Hampton Inn and Suites picks up every 45 minutes from the Bus/Shuttle Center. Follow the signs from baggage claim.

- How do I know whether I am registered for a course?
If you have completed the online registration, you should receive a confirmation immediately.
- Am I an AANA Member?
Please email us at membership@aana.org to check your status.
- What is the refund/cancellation policy for a course?
Refunds are subject to a non-refundable $500.00 processing fee and must be made four weeks prior to the start of the course. Cancellations must be made four weeks prior to a course. All refunds and cancellations must be written and sent to the AANA office.
- Can I transfer to another course?
You may switch courses within the same year, space permitting, by notifying the AANA office in writing at least four weeks prior to the course. A $200.00 transfer fee will apply.
- How do I request a letter of invitation?
You will need to register for the course and pay for it prior to receiving a letter of invitation. Once you have registered for the course, please email us at info@aana.org.
- Will there be bilingual instructors at each course?
Instructors vary from course to course. It is in the best interest of the registrant to speak and understand English.
- Can I attend a course if I’m not an AANA member?
Yes, AANA Courses are available to all Orthopaedic Surgeons.
- Is housing included in the course registration fee?
No, housing is not included in the registration fee. For your convenience, AANA has a hotel block at the Hampton Inn & Suites Rosemont Chicago O'Hare for each course.
- What airport should I fly into?
Please fly into O'Hare International Airport (ORD).
- How far is the Hampton Inn from the OLC?
The Hampton Inn & Suites is about 100 meters from the OLC.
- What is the course attire?
The attire is casual, mainly scrubs being in and out of the lab.
- Can Residents attend courses other than the Foundations in Arthroscopy courses?

- How do I access my CME’s?
